Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council usually meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month to discuss, and make decisions on a wide range of subjects. We do occasionally have extra meetings to discuss special subjects and also have an Annual Meeting in May of each year.

The regular meeting dates for 2023/4 are:

The role of the Parish Council is to:

Give views on planning applications and other proposals that affect the parish.
Undertaking projects and schemes that benefit local residents.
Work in partnership with other bodies to achieve benefits for the parish.
Alert relevant authorities to problems that arise or work that needs to be undertaken.
Help the other tiers of local government keep in touch with their local communities.

All parish council meetings are open to the press and public, and we encourage residents of all ages to come and let us know what they think about their parish and what should be happening in it.

Agendas for Meetings

All parish council meetings have an agenda which is published 3 days before the meeting to allow the councillors time to prepare and read any papers.

We do allow a time before the start of the official meeting for members of the public to raise any topics of concern to them. We are only allowed to make decisions on topics listed on the official agenda, so if you think your topic needs some kind of decision you would need to notify the Clerk in plenty of time to ensure it can be included on the agenda.

The agendas for parish meetings are published 3 days before the meeting and are placed on noticeboards throughout the parish, and listed on this website.

Minutes of Meetings

Official minutes are taken by the parish clerk at every parish council meeting. These are then circulated to the councillors, and agreed as a true record of the meeting at the next parish council meeting. Draft minutes are also made available to the public, usually within a week of each meeting.
